Ten years since you left us Eddie. I searched for you in the stars last night and listened as the trees softly brushed against the sky. I wonder, can you see me from where you are, and can you hear me ask your forgiveness for any unkindness I caused?
Every day a part of you touches my memory for I learned more than I knew from your smile and your gentle way of living on this earth. I remember words you spoke as a child, their simple wisdom. I remember your shame at the cruelty this world can bestow to those without power.
These ten years have passed by quickly, yet I cannot say I have learned yet how to live in the world without you. You are in my days and nights and all my memories of laughter and dancing and colors and the lights on the Christmas tree.
I look for you and I wait for you to return.
